Training Band
When Training Band members were asked for ideas to put on this page one member said
"Tell them we are the FRIENDLY band."
We are an all age beginners band. Once you can play 5 notes on a brass instrument
or are Grade 1 percussion you can join us and we provide the next step in musical
development where first experiences are gained in group performance.
We meet on Tuesday nights 6pm- 7.10pm, during school term time, at The Member's
Pavillion (West Mid Showground).
We play a wide range of music including pop songs, film and TV music, hymn tunes,
classical music and marches. We work on scales, articulation, dynamics and reading
rhythms to improve technical skills. Most players eventually progress to the main band.
Training Band is currently conducted by James Dale, Richard Pulford & Lisa Kendall
