Shrewsbury Brass Band

Shrewsbury Brass Band is a lively and dedicated community ensemble that rehearses every Tuesday evening at Prestfelde School in Shrewsbury. Originally known as 'Sabrina Brass', the band rebranded in 2012 to better reflect its connection to Shrewsbury, proudly performing under the experienced leadership of Musical Director Dougie Graham. With around 30 members, the band welcomes musicians of all skill levels and performs a broad musical repertoire, spanning classic marches, swing, and contemporary pieces. A core mission of the band is fundraising, having raised nearly £28,000 to support important causes like the British Legion, Hope House, and the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.

Shrewsbury Brass Band is a fixture at numerous local events, bringing music to well-known venues and occasions throughout the year. Highlights include BBC Radio Shropshire’s Carols in the Square, Severn Hospice’s “Lights of Love,” performances at Shrewsbury Abbey, and appearances at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn and St Chad's Church. We also participate in the Ironbridge Brass Band Festival, Whit Friday Marches, and other significant community events across Shropshire, contributing vibrantly to the region's musical life.
